Women In the Floorcovering Industry (WIFI) Scholarship Deadline Approaches and Organization Announces Spring Events

Women in the Floorcovering Industry (WIFI) is offering scholarships to current and potential flooring industry associates and is also seeking mentors for their 6th mentoring cohort, with both deadlines of Feb. 27.

WIFI scholarships are available for both post-secondary education and continuing education opportunities, with award amounts ranging from $250 to $5,000. The program supports women pursuing college degrees, trade programs, certifications, leadership development, and other professional advancement opportunities within the flooring industry. Industry professionals are encouraged to volunteer to be a mentor for WIFI’s adult-to-adult mentoring program, which is a six-month commitment for a monthly 1-hour meeting. Sign-up by Feb. 27 at: https://loom.ly/ytOddFA.  

This spring, WIFI will also host several events, including:

  • March 3 at 7:30 a.m. PST – The Blueprint Breakfast: WIFI + FAWN Affiliate Program Launch at the Fuse Alliance Annual Conference in San Diego,
  • March 18 at 12:00 p.m. EST – Own the Year: How to Lead a Powerful 2026 Planning Session virtual Power Hour,
  • March 29 at 4:30 p.m. CST – Winning the Floor in Today’s Market: Retail Roundtables at the Alliance Flooring Convention in San Antonio,
  • March 31 at 11:30 a.m. PST – Coverings Speed Networking Lunch in Las Vegas; and
  • April 22 at 9:15 a.m. EST – Save the Date – WIFI Breakout Session at the NWFA Convention in Orlando.

On March 3, WIFI will partner with Fuse Alliance at its Annual Conference in San Diego to launch FAWN (Fuse Alliance Women’s Network), an official affiliate group of WIFI. The Blueprint Breakfast will be hosted by WIFI board members Reva Revis, Fuse Alliance; Amy Rush-Imber, Floor Covering Weekly; and Brenda Knowles, Shaw Commercial. Attendees will have the opportunity to help shape FAWN’s mission and vision while learning how the affiliate program will connect Fuse women to scholarships, mentorship, leadership development, and expanded industry relationships. On March 18, WIFI will host Own the Year: How to Lead a Powerful 2026 Planning Session, a free virtual event open to all industry professionals. The session will be led by Michelle Nix, director of education, World Floor Covering Association. Participants will learn a practical, repeatable one-hour framework for building a clear and aligned 2026 calendar. Nix will share facilitation strategies and tools to anchor key deadlines, sequence initiatives, manage group dynamics and create accountability. On March 29, WIFI and Alliance Flooring will host “Winning the Floor in Today’s Market” at the Alliance Flooring Convention in San Antonio. This peer-led conversation, hosted by Mallory Cruise-McGrath, Floor Covering Weekly; Megan Polk, and Savanna Ostrander, Alliance Flooring, will focus on what’s working in today’s flooring retail environment, offering practical insights retailers can apply immediately. During Coverings in Las Vegas on March 31, WIFI, along with Women in Stone and Women in Tile, will engage with attendees through a Speed Networking Lunch designed to spark connection and career development.
