World Floor Covering Association Spearheads Industry-Wide United Front to Address the Labor Shortage

 

About the FCEF

With a focus on recruitment, scholarship, and placement, the FCEF exists to bring awareness to the opportunities in the flooring industry, recruit new talent, aid in the funding of the student’s education, and facilitate job placement for these individuals into flooring industry careers.

 
The World Floor Covering Association (WFCA) announced the first ever industry-wide initiative, “We are Part of the Solution,” to impact the most pressing matter facing our industry - the installation crisis.
The World Floor Covering Association has committed an initial seed-funding donation of $1.0M and challenges industry leaders to join with the WFCA in solving the labor shortage. This breakthrough collaborative effort will include two distinct initiatives that will serve to broaden industry support and participation. As an initial step, the WFCA has spearheaded the formation of the Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF), an organization dedicated to recruiting and training individuals in preparation for a career in the flooring industry. The Foundation’s initial purpose will be to recruit new installers, scholarship their trade education, and place these new artisans into floor covering industry careers.

The World Floor Covering Association and CCA Global Partners® jointly announce Jim Aaron as the Executive Director of the Floor Covering Education Foundation. CCA and the WFCA have a long, supportive relationship. A number of CCA employees have served on the WFCA’s Board of Directors. Aaron will start in his new position in mid-February 2021.  Read the Full Press Release.

 

The Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF), a newly formed, nonprofit organization dedicated to the recruitment, scholarship and placement of professional floorcovering installers, has announced its board of directors. With representatives from retailers, training organizations, advocacy groups, distributors, and manufacturers, the new board members’ collective expertise will strengthen the FCEF and ensure the Foundation’s power to overcome the installation crisis that affects the flooring industry. Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF) Appoints Interim Executive Director and Committee Chairs. The Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF), a newly formed, nonprofit organization dedicated to the recruitment, scholarship, placement, and retention of professional floorcovering installers, has unanimously appointed Steve Abernathy as interim executive director. Abernathy, the Chief Financial Officer of the World Floor Covering Association (WFCA) assumed this additional role on January 1, 2020. Read the Full Press Release.
